Online entrepreneurship success depends a great deal on what kind of products or services you sell. You can either offer a product or service and create a great deal of market buzz around it so that it sells or you can tap an existing vacuum or need that has not been addressed and sell products and services that meet that need or fill that vacuum. Either way, you have to identify your area of expertise and your target audience. Once you have identified this, you need to find your customers and let them know about your products or services, and ‘make them an offer they can’t refuse’! One way to do this is to identify what makes your product or service so unique and sell them on that idea.

Often, the ideas that rock the world seem so simple that you wonder why nobody ever thought about it before! As an online entrepreneur, it is important to identify what you will offer and who you will serve.

How do you come up with a great idea or service or product?

You might get ideas when you are most relaxed as opposed to when you are stressed. Sometimes ideas come to you when you are doing something totally unrelated to your online business. Let your subconscious mind do the work for you.

One of the best ways to come up with a service or product that will serve or meet a need in others is to look at what it is in your life that you need that is not being met. Chances are that there are many others like you who feel that need and are looking for a way to solve it.

Alternatively, you could look at an existing product or service and brainstorm ways in which it could be improved upon. The world may have limitless ideas but especially on the Internet, there is a possibility that someone has already got the same idea that you have now and materialized it. This should not dishearten you. You can still find a million ways to make it better and greater!

One way you can never fail is to look at the world around you and ask yourself the question, how can I serve, or what can I do to make the world a better place, and then get started doing it!

Once you have identified the service or product, what next?

The next step would be to turn your vision into reality. For this, you might need to rope in others who share your dream and are as passionate as you are about it. Once you have transformed your idea into a concrete service or product, the next step would be finding your customers.

How do you find customers for your online business?

Once you have identified the audience for your service or business, you can approach them by means of:

      Linking up with other websites or businesses through affiliate links.

      Guest posting on blogs.

      Sending out e-zines.

      Email marketing.

      Spreading awareness through social media.
