4 Epic Tips for a Compelling Website

4 Epic Tips for a Compelling Website

Good writers are those that can invoke and sustain the interest of the reader; likewise a good website is one which can entice customers and make them want to stay, shop, and visit again. Awesome web pages make great websites. With a little effort, you can create a website that will be the envy of many, bring you opportunities, and an income.

Design

When you enter a website, you don’t want to wait an eternity for the pages to open; they should load quickly and give you what you are looking for without you having to poke around. Slow loading pages are a pain and may lose impatient viewers. For today’s consumer, speed is the essence. Images should be clean, crisp, and clear.  Well designed, innovative images help capture the interest of an audience.

Web pages should be easy on the eye– using the wrong color background and wrong color font can make text difficult to read. Colors are critical, and your choice of color is going to determine whether the user intends staying around or not – for instance, a white background and black color font can never go wrong– ideally, backgrounds should be light in color, while fonts should be darker. Remember, your web color scheme and design should appeal to your target market. Take the time to research complimentary color schemes. Using a complementary color scheme ensures the design will work across all devices.

Navigation

Navigating around the site should be easy and simple. There must be clear direction telling visitors where to go to learn about products and services. When people visit a website, they expect a lot of things but there are always a few things that all visitors will benefit from– focus on these to give them a helping hand and get them going.

The website must answer all visitor questions, better still it should anticipate them and have the answers ready. Products and services should be easy to locate and product details should be readily available- in short, everything that the visitor is likely to want should be at hand. Anything short of this may cause you to lose a customer.

Responsive

In this multi-device and multi-channel age, engaging prospective customers through their preferred means of communication is essential. Regardless of whether a viewer chooses a computer, tablet, or mobile phone, a site should motivate them to purchase goods or services. Responsive websites are designed to look good and function across all devices.

A good website will guide traffic to where you ultimately want people to end up; this will take a little coaxing, a lot of convincing and a lot of clarity. People who visit the website want to be led and don’t want to waste time looking for information. A great website will guide users along a memorable journey to a satisfying destination, a call to action to fill a need, or access to information.

User Experience

When we were in school and started writing essays, the golden rule was to ensure that the introduction was written interestingly enough to catch the eye of the teacher. The same logic applies to web design, the initial few seconds of viewing a site must provoke interest. Awesome websites give visitors awesome experiences.

There should be no ambiguity while writing—you must remember that websites are global and open to the public. There must be clarity in dates and times, there should be no spelling or grammar errors.

Ensure that all the links you provide actually work; there is nothing as frustrating as a broken link. Last but not least, see that your pages have contact information, as people are going to want to contact you.

Creating a website is easy, but a compelling website needs some planning, time, and effort to create. Providing a positive, visually appealing, informative, and fun experience for your visitors will serve you well in generating revenues and loyal customers.

Start Strong

It is extremely important to capture your viewer’s attention immediately when they visit your website, so you should select one of your strongest designs to be the first example they see, and then continue to keep them interested by following up with more of your great blog pieces.

End Strong

Just as starting strong was important, ending strong is equally important. Actually, it may be even more important to end strong as this will leave a good visual memory in the mind of the viewer. Include some free downloads as examples of your work so visitors can get to know you and understand what you are offering.
